About Us
Origin
Starting as a sole trader importing Toncelli fitted kitchens and Mamoli taps in 1976, Achille Paolo Chiorando then developed APC Distributor into a limited company in 1978, with his own manufacturing base in Italy specifically for the design and production of taps for the UK market.
Still to this day a family run business, APC is neither a faceless corporation, nor a kitchen table enterprise, but a knowledgeable company run by people who have been brought up in the industry.
Heritage
We were the major manufacturer of dual flow taps, and we still manufacture them to this day.
We were one of the first factories to use the screw on tails system (which is now near-universal).
In collaboration with Mamoli we introduced the cruciform body type in the form of the 7095 tap (as seen in our Kitchen Brochure)
Quality
Keeping up appearances with almost 50 years of history, we still test every individual tap twice by both water and air prior to leaving our assembly plant in San Maurizio d’Opaglio, Italy. This quality control has always been a vital part of the process to guarantee confidence in the products that we provide to the UK market.
Many of our kitchen and bathroom taps can be WRAS approved, and in fact our filter tap used to be the only complete WRAS approved kitchen filter tap on the market.

We carry a huge range of spare parts, and will continue to do so for each tap that we make.
Production
Since we have always classified ourselves as a manufacturer with our own means of production, we have also always kept a low profile and manufactured on behalf of other brands who in turn wish to be called manufacturer themselves.
We manufacture our own products so you are safe in the knowledge that when you talk to us, we can speak in confidence about the quality and provenance of our range of taps. Indeed part of our appeal is the fact that we are each customer can contact us easily.
